DJ Food is a bad ass DJ and musician. This EP is epic. The styles of music. The way it was engineered. The vibes. It’s all on point and mad creative.

What’s your favorite record label?

With today’s technology and the power of the internet, just about anyone could start a record label. The coolest thing about that is that there are so many labels out there that have their own sound and identity. It’s almost impossible to run out of good music to listen to!

With that said, I want to share a few of my favorite record labels!

Brainfeeder

Brainfeeder is a DOPE L.A. based record label founded by the one and only Flying Lotus.  They feature some of the best electronic and hip hop musicians, like Tokimonsta, The Gaslamp Killer, and Lapalux. Check out their Soundcloud

Ninja Tune

Ninja Tune is a British indie label that was founded by a couple of DJ’s (Coldcut) in 1990. Their music releases jump back and forth between experimental electronic and hip hop. One of the many epic things about this label is that they release pure underground music that isn’t over-sweetened by major labels. Some of their artists and acts are Amon Tobin, Machinedrum, Kelis, and Dj Food. Check out their Soundcloud

WARP

Warp is a British indie record label founded in 1989 by Steve Beckett and Rob Mitchell. This label is legendary! They have some of the most influential electronic artists on their roster. Some of the artists of Warp are Aphex Twin, Clark, Eskmo, Squarepusher, Jackson and his Computer Band, Flying Lotus, and Prefuse 73. Just by that super compressed list of artists, you should want to rush over to Warp.net and check out the roster.

Those are just a few of my favorites. What’s your favorite label? If you could put a few of your favorite artists on a dream label who would you sign?
